Turf Trial 

Some Like it Hot

Driven by the continual demand to search for ways in which to enhance the performance and sustainable management of sports fields in the Auckland and Northern Region, Matt Udall –Sports Turf Operations Manager and Will Bowden – SSDM Sports Turf Consultant have recently established a replicate warm-season turfgrass trial at the Recreational Services, Waipu Turf Farm.

The trial comprises of replicated plots of: Sydney & Princess seeded couch grass varieties, as well as Seashore Papalum. Over the course of the last few months the plots were monitored every 2 weeks and turfgrass establishment quantified.
