Green Flag awards 2023
The Green Flag Award is an internationally recognized program that rewards well-managed parks and open spaces providing high-quality recreational experiences for our communities.
This year, Recreational Services has earned this international mark of quality for 10 of its parks among 20 others in New Zealand.
Recreation Aotearoa, the organization in Aotearoa that judges these awards had been visiting parks throughout the country to determine which have met the Green and Community Flag standard. The winning sites are gifted a flag to fly proudly in their parks for the public to see. You can spot one while you’re out celebrating park week 2023 and visiting one of our parks.
